Scientometric review of artificial intelligence for operations & maintenance of wind turbines: The past, present and future

Wind energy has emerged as a highly promising source of renewable in recent times. However, wind turbines regularly suffer from operational inconsistencies, leading to significant costs and challenges operations maintenance (O&M). Condition-based monitoring (CBM) performance assessment/analysis are vital aspects for ensuring efficient O&M planning cost minimisation. Data-driven decision making techniques have witnessed rapid evolution the industry such tasks during last decade, applying signal processing methods early 2010 artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, especially deep learning 2020. In this article, we utilise statistical computing present scientometric review conceptual thematic AI sector, providing evidence-based insights into strengths limitations data-driven industry. We provide perspective future on current key data availability quality, lack transparency black box-natured models, prevailing issues deploying models real-time support, along with possible strategies overcome these problems. hope that systematic analysis past, CBM assessment can encourage more organisations adopt towards sources reliable, contributing global efforts tackling climate change.
